Your CBT Certificate

Once you successfully complete the course you will be given a CBT Certificate. This certificate then validates your provisional or full licence to allow you to ride a bike with or without gears up to 125cc (50cc if you are 16 years of age). You must not take a passenger or use a Motorway and you must have L plates displayed front and rear. Your certificate is valid for 2 years. During this period you can if you wish, take a UK bike test and you will no longer have to display L plates. If you want to carry on riding and you do not pass a test within 2 years you will have to repeat your CBT. Although the certificate allows you to ride Automatic  or Manual, it is recommended that you take further training before riding a geared bike if you cannot already ride one.
